Is there a more talented shot-maker in the world? Bubba Watson can do things with a golf ball that have to be seen to be believed a and it is that natural ability that has taken him to the very pinnacle of the game. The colourful left-hander first rose to international prominence in 2010 when he earned his first PGA Tour victory. Later that same year, he would narrowly lose out to Martin Kaymer in a three-holeAplay-off for the US PGA title at Whistling Straits. It didn’t take long for major glory to arrive, however. In 2012, Bubba overcame Louis Oosthuizen in a play-off to earn the first of his two Green Jackets, the prize that goes to the winner of the Masters Tournament. At the end of that same year, Bubba made his debut at the TGC, finishing in a share of second behind South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel.

Martin Kaymer has achieved great success in a very short period of time. The most famous German golfer since Bernhard Langer, Martin made his European Tour debut in 2007 and within three years he was a major champion, having seen off Bubba Watson in a play-off for the 2010 US PGA Championship. One of golf’s most articulate professionals, Martin, who became World No. 1 in 2011 after his runner-up finish at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, sank the putt that earned the European Team a stunning come-from-behind victory at the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah. The 30-year-old made his TGC debut last year, finishing in a share of second with Australia’s Marcus Fraser behind his Ryder Cup teammate Lee Westwood. That performance at Amata Spring came just four months after Martin blitzed the field at Pinehurst to win the US Open by a staggering eight shots.
